Giving through United Way is one of the most effective and efficient ways to give back to our community. The United Way fundraising campaign gives El Pasoans the opportunity to give through workplace campaigns, corporate giving, and individual giving. Our broad approach encompasses residential, professional and leadership direct-mail appeals, as well as soliciting in over 500 workplaces. Corporate gifts are received as dollar-for-dollar or percentage matches to employee giving, adding further incentive for workplace giving.
Payroll deduction provides a convenient way for persons to give generously without feeling overextended. At United Way of El Paso County, we like to say, "Give until it feels good!" Gifts are tax deductible* and all local campaign dollars raised stay right here in El Paso to help our friends and neighbors.
A company needn't be a corporate giant in order to give. Corporate gifts are a favorite way for small businesses to participate, to give back to the community in which they thrive. Many small businesses show they have big hearts through their generosity.
Our Leadership Society honors individual givers who give more than $750 per year and our Emerging Leaders Society honors those under 35 years of age who give at least $500 per year. Leadership giving gets a boost from a matching grant from Abell-Hanger Foundation of Midland, TX, which matches 100% of all new Leadership Society gifts and 100% of all increases by renewing members, up to $50,000.
*If giving through payroll deduction, employees must retain the yellow copy of their pledge form and their final payroll stub of the year as proof of their gift.*
